Dr. Marc Robinson
Dr. Marc Robinson is a licensed optometric physician and a certified Florida Gator.
Dr. Robinson grew up on Florida’s Space Coast and graduated from the University of Florida in 2012 where he completed pre-optometry studies and a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Behavior. He earned his Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Dr. Robinson trained at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville where he further developed his skills to identify and manage eye diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Robinson then practiced in Madison, Wisconsin for multiple years while his spouse completed her studies. Dr. Robinson was ecstatic to return to Gainesville permanently following his wife accepting a faculty position at UF.
Along with having a high prescription himself, his enjoyment of physics and problem solving drew him to the profession. At the core of Dr. Robinson’s clinical practice is a fundamental understanding of the visual system. His ability to analyze and optimize this system helps him deliver clear, comfortable vision to his patients.
Dr. Robinson is an expert in contact lenses, specifically multifocal and high astigmatism fittings. He is skilled in prescribing glasses for astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia, focusing problems, and prisms to correct double vision. He has a strong record of success with patients who have struggled with glasses in the past and with patients who have eye conditions that limit or distort vision.
Dr. Robinson enjoys problem-solving, critical thinking, and learning about research being done by scientists here in Gainesville.
