Dr. Noble Chun
Dr. Noble Chun is a licensed optometric physician, a certified Florida Gator, and a native son of Gainesville.
Dr. Noble Chun graduated from Eastside High School here in Gainesville and earned the International Baccalaureate diploma. He then earned a Bachelor of Science in Entomology at the University of Florida while completing his pre-optometric coursework. Dr. Chun then completed his professional education at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, earning his Doctorate with honors. He also completed training at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville managing complex eye diseases including macular degeneration, glaucoma, severe dry eye, and low vision.
Dr. Chun was a founding member of Gainesville Vision prior to leaving Gainesville for his professional education. After witnessing the ability to better correct vision over standard measures, he became devoted to learning to prescribe glasses and contact lenses in a way to optimize the performance of the visual system. After completion of his training, it was natural for Dr. Chun to return to Gainesville Vision, where he shares a philosophy that emphasizes mathematical visualization of the cornea, lens, and retina. Dr. Chun enjoys utilizing his expertise and analytical abilities to prescribe for complex refractive conditions including high myopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, multifocal, and progressive optics.
The more dynamic a visual problem, the more Dr. Chun enjoys working to solve it. In fact, when not wearing glasses, Dr. Chun wears rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses to correct his own compound myopic astigmatism.
Dr. Chun is an avid Gator sports fan; throughout all four years as a UF undergraduate, Dr. Chun played the mellophone in the Pride of the Sunshine Marching Band where he traveled the entire SEC to support the Gators. Dr. Chun’s hobbies include beekeeping and archery.
